A Misunderstanding

“You have got to be kidding me,” I said in surprised.

Mary grunted. “Well.” she yanks the stubborn weed from the ground. “It was the only way to get you here.” She turns around to face me, weed on hand. “And it worked. You’re here.”

I sighed. “Yes, but–”

“But what?” She said.

I chuckled. “Not important.” I rolled my sleeves. ” Let’s get this community project started.”

Mary beamed with excitement and her smiled made my heart skipped a beat.

I guess today wasn’t the day.
